ABOUT DAN KILKENNY
Dan comes from a large Irish family. Something which may be obvious given the Kilkenny last name. His mother’s maiden name is O’Sullivan. All four of his grandparents were born in Ireland as was his father. At the age of one, Dan moved from New York to Arizona with his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. He spent the rest of his growing up years in Arizona and that is where most of his family still lives. He went to The University of San Diego and graduated with Bachelor of Business Administration and a minor in Philosophy. He played soccer his freshman year and had the terrific opportunity to study abroad during his junior year, completing his philosophy minor and travelling around Europe.
He was hired directly out of college to work for Lees Commercial Carpets as their Western Region Trainee. Arkansas was part of the Western Region, and although he wondered about leaving San Diego to go to Arkansas, Dan learned a lot and enjoyed his year there. From there, he received his first territory assignment in Texas. He worked the Dallas market for about a year and then moved to Houston, where he spent six years. During his time in Houston, he had the good fortune to meet his wonderful bride, Jennifer Hove. They moved back to Carlsbad, California to enjoy the fantastic beach life (and for Dan to take the San Diego territory for Lees Carpets) prior to their plan of having children. After three years of San Diego, Dan was promoted to Regional Vice President and they moved back to
the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Lees Carpets was subsequently sold to Mohawk Industries and Dan was with Mohawk as a Regional Vice President until the creation of CDK Agency.
Jennifer and Dan have two kids, named Conor and Devon, who attend Lily B. Clayton Elementary School. Now you know how CDK came to be. They live in the Berkeley neighborhood outside of downtown Fort Worth and they absolutely love it. Dan spends most of his time chasing the kids around and he is typically known as Conor or Devon’s Dad or Jen’s husband. Added to his list of names has been Coach Dan, as he has enjoyed coaching both Conor and Devon’s soccer teams. He does also get to enjoy his own weekly soccer games, mountain bike rides, reading the Sunday paper on the front porch, and many good times with an absolutely fantastic group of friends.
